Friday's Exclamations, Eventual Selections & Updates- 28 October

An abbreviated blog today as I want to spend some time looking at the weekend racing - some good stuff coming up on Saturday!

Newmarket 14:25  Better Announce (4.65) 1st

Newmarket 15:00   Excelette 2nd looks the pick of the bunch here and I shall be on.
Mega annoying since  Artistic  Jewel who won came top of my sheet but big negative was the recent stable form

Newmarket 16:10  Conducting 2nd e/w

Dundalk 18:55  Five Star Junior 3rd

Wolverhampton 19:10  Copper Falls e/w UP
Tailed off well before the end and wouldn't be surprised if something went wrong there

Tiny loss of -0.35 if you were win only

Ongoing non runners list – these are previous blog selections that were scratched on the day and worth looking out for NTO:

Shoreacres - Wetherby 15:20  UP
Grumeti
Best One
Captain Dash
Murfreesboro

Uttoxeter have quite brilliantly moved the final hurdle to within spitting distance of the winning post.  It would have been quite an achievement to have fitted 5 flicks of the stick after the final flight!  I wonder if it'll be moved back now......?

I must mention that it is rare for me to remember any dreams that I have but this morning I awoke with the phrase "Gorilla Egg Moon" at the forefront of my mind - this was terribly important in my dream!  The initials are Gem.  My racehorse name (a frequent game in our house is what would you call your racehorse!) has now changed from Beer & Pizza to Gorilla Egg Moon....or Gem!
Other people have dreams that they can interpret - their subconscious trying to get importantish messages across.  I get "Gorilla Egg Moon"........if any sane person can interpet that one then they should have a Nobel prize and research funding for the rest of their career.

If nothing else then it's reminded how great the song at the foot of this post!

There is a horse names Geminus running in the 15:55 Wetherby but it doesn't look a likely winner....... if anyone spots a horse running over the weekend!

There has been a campaign of sorts to boycott betting tomorrow, 29 October.  This is to show displeasure and support for jockeys over the revised whip rules in the belief that if the bookies get hit in the pocket then they may also bring some pressure upon the BHA.  Sorry folks, but this just isn't going to happen.  The bookies have no where near the influence in UK horse racing that they may once have had (moving their operations offshore to avoid the UK levy tends to do this) and horse racing is rapidly becoming one of their lesser incomes - football and tennis betting are the big fish ...with 100% over rounds in many cases.

So, although I'm vehemently opposed to the revised whip rules and 100% behind the jockeys, I won't be joining in.

A good day for Silverstre yesterday with a treble to close the gap to four.
157                    153                   144
    56                         56                      26
