Sunday’s Selections & Results – 28 August

We heard the bad news yesterday that Pour Moi is to be retired from racing after suffering an injury during training.  The horse had such a fantastic turn of foot which he showed to devastating effect in the Derby.  He’ll retire to stud for Coolmore – I guess if you’re looking for positives, then his stud value will be a high as could be hoped for now that he’s bowing out on a high. 

Jason Maguire was air lifted to hospital from Cartmel with his arm in a sling – initially it was suspected break, then a dislocated shoulder.  Donald McCain succinctly summed his feelings up on Twitter:

“Bollocks!”
A little later when it was revealed not to be as serious and injury as first thought he tweeted:

“Doesn't seem to be anything broken, very sore, think he's turnin soft”

Donad McCain jr calls a spade a spade and not a shovel....just like his Dad!

Today’s system selections are pretty late but hopefully worth waiting for:

Some short heads and photofinishes abound today :  Rutterkin, Lady Elsie, Kodacil with only Kodacil prevailing!
