Racing goes ahead at Haydock ...yay! I'll be the crazy woman by the paddock if Sandynow wins, comes 2nd or 3rd.......
My daughter who is accompanying me had long ago selected her horses.....all those that Jason Maguire is riding! Clever girl!
Update: Sandynow shows why you shouldn't be tempted by a horse by the name (although glimpses of form were there!). I soon realised that the top rows and stats were coming out well for me so on track and after big feet paddock inspections I changed my mind and backed Tamarinbleu (who I had put a line through as he had a hefty weight) and Bold Ransom. Knock A Hand looked very well in the paddock and I really should have trusted my judgement there but I still ended the day with five winners and had an excellent time.
The selections as they were put on here made a profit of +3.21 so (given that Haydock is my favourite local course but not usually best for results) I am very happy with that.
Mr Chippy was disappointing and looked as though he would rally 3 fences out but found nothing.
Notes:
It's a shame that Mon Mome won't be running in the Veteran's Chase - there's a (tiny) horse that owes me nothing after I backed him at 149/1 for the National then e/w at 100/1 antepost for the 2010 Gold Cup.
I just realised that (having withdrawn some £££s), I had just 0.80p left in after a rash of poor judgement. I managed to turn this into £61.82 yesterday late afternoon. I've just impressed myself!!!
I had the closest shave yet to a JackPot win on Thursday. In the cruellest way possible, I had the winners of the first five races and was on Beneficial Reform in the last leg. He was two lengths clear after the final fence but weakened and came home 2nd. The winner Air Force One has been pulled up more times recently than a black guy driving a Rolls Royce in Knightsbridge without a cap! I'd never have picked him.
Ah well, another day! I must be doing something right to get so close / it would have been harder if it was the Scoop 6 .......these are my consolation phrases!

1/ The distance is a little worrying
with Code Blue but McCain knows what he’s doing and Henry Brooke is a handy
rider who’ll know the horse
2/ Jason Maguire will be just a lb off
his lowest weight in a year for this …and so soon after Xmas!
4/ Tamarinbleu has a hefty load to
carry in these conditions so I can’t have him.
5/ Vamizi goes best with a month or so
rest between races which he’s had this time.
7/ * I’ve put these three selections
that are highlighted in pink but are short prices in a treble
