My visit to Doncaster was not only fun but extremely profitable. 1000% profit which was achieved from being able to look at the horses in the parade ring. Form alone (as demonstrated from my blog selections yesterday) isn't always enough and with my mere 20% top line strike rate for Doncaster, I would have been more usefully employed looking through the Cheltenham card (and the not missing Midnight Chase!) and picking my Doncaster selections at the racecourse. You never stop learning! Being asked for a tip for the next race by Mr Geraghty (the nicest on course bookie to hand over his ££££s that you'll ever meet) is a good for the ego too.
Just for the record, both Calgary Bay and Shakalakaboomboom who took the first two places in the Skybet Chase yesterday at Doncaster had progressively improved their placing in their last three races as well as contesting a higher class race this season.....make of that what you will for future reference!
I've now recovered from yesterdays celebrations once I returned home (pizza and champagne no less!). Having already made one vital decision today which was not to open the attachment kindly emailed to me from Barrister John Ibe (Account General of the Federation) at the Office of the Presidency ..... I am about to launch myself at the Leopardstown, Ffos Las andSedgefield cards.
Sunday morning so my selections will pop up on here at various interludes (between running in to the living room to keep up with Nadal's progress - go gorgeous boy! Did you know his uncle played football for Barcelona and Spain? I think today's racing may be finished before this final!) so please keep checking back .
