Tuesday's Selections & Results - 15 November

You know that white-skinned, white-haired self-flagellating albino monk in The Da Vinci Code?  Being a member of religious sect Opus Dei wasn't the reason he beat himself up - the reasons were :
  1. He didn't read his own blog (Lavelle - had 2 runners & the one not selected was an 11/1 winner)
  2. Backed not one but two short priced favourites on a Monday and
  3. Ignored this which paid £82.50 for the forecast

On the plus side, I did select Frequency and things are going in the general direction of right!

SELECTIONS : I know some of these are short priced favourites but it's not Monday!

Folkstone
First Choice
Danger
1
13:00
High Samana (2.1) 1st
Frederick William NR
2
13:30
Caulfields Venture  UP
Tony Dinozzo UP (3rd)
3
14:00
Bear’s Affair F
Canni Thinkaar UP (2nd)

Notes:
1/             High Samana has cheekpieces back on today and dropping down a class. Extra furlong should help. Better results on RH tracks.
2/             Tony Dinozzo looks as if he’s come for the experience (stablemate Bears Affair should be a shoo-in in the next) – will be a very good horse but prefer a hurdles outing under his belt like Caulfields Venture has.

Southwell
First Choice
Danger

15:20
On The Cusp UP
Bolodenka UP (4th)

Notes:
1/             I will be a little cautious about On The Cusp as he has never managed back to back wins

Fakenham
First Choice
Danger

14:10
So Is She (4.7) 1st
Hope Point 2nd

Notes:
1/            Do like Hope Point but has a penalty to struggle with

Two winners again today (plus a forecast in the 14:10) giving - 2.1.   ....  Three winners including Flying Pickets (see video belowwhich I put up last night) so if you spotted that then it's -1.24

Southwell 14:20 1st (1.96)

Monday's Selections & Updates - 24 October

Well two good days for boosting the beer & pizza fund over the weekend - I must remember which "lucky" mug I've been drinking my coffee from these past two days!   Only joking....it's staying away from the tail end (dregs?) of low-grade flat turf racing that has brought the "luck".

Godophin have three runners in the 14:40 at Redcar on Monday - two trained by Al Zarooni.  The Bin Suroor runner Future Security is 1st string (Hanagan) with Fallon on 2nd string Zaeem and Catlin on Oxbow.  Since it's a maiden, it's always worth considering an investment on those not wearing the blue cap at an each way price!
Future Security was 1st although it went off at a second string price. Zaeem came 2nd (at a fav price) with Oxbow trundling up way behind in 8th place.

Today’s selections are:

Southwell
14:20  Hunting Gonk UP
14:50  Quite A Thing (1.86) 1st
15:20  On The Cusp UP
            Kishinda UP
15:50  Totally Trusted UP
16:20  Baileys Agincourt UP
16:50  Gracies Gift UP

I shall refer you to the line below!  ....I suppose I should be happy to have found the one winner (backed it myself at evens) but still loss of -5.14 today

I'm not so confident about these picks today and that together with it being Monday (!) means small stakes for me

Mark Johnston was talking a lot of sense when he spoke to ATR on Sunday.  As a trainer, a qualified vet and a director of BHA, I hope his words are given some credence.
