Tuesday’s Selections and Glorious Goodwood

It seems almost sacrilege to include system selections for Glorious Goodwood – but here they are!

Beverley
14:45     Barnum (9.6) 1st
15:20     Hacienda (7.2) 2nd
15:55     Red Roar (6.4) 2nd

Goodwood
14:00     Modun  (4.3) 2nd
14:35     Fiorente (2.12)  2nd
15:10     Strong Suit (3.7) 1st
15:45     Crown Dependancy (5.3) UP

Better!  Profits of +6.3 today

Non-System Selections:

The last two races at Beverley are interesting – not because they’re goddawful Ladies amateur Class 6 races but because over the distance (10f), there is a marked draw bias.  In fact it’s that favourable for those drawn high that I’ve crossed off anything that isn’t regardless of jockey, trainer, form.  Twisted looks the best pick in the 17:35 – now with Mick Easterby (who has produced a couple of winners in the past 2 days) - having come from John Gosden earlier this season. He’s also partnered by an able jockey and  carrying 7lb less than LTO.  Although beaten 9l into 5th place that occasion, the better ground and draw should make up the shortfall.  I’ve gone for Rowan Lodge in the 18:05.  A course specialist who came 2nd here LTO and jockey claiming 5 (up just a lb).  As long as the heavens don’t open, I can’t see much to challenge. I've just read Tom Dascombe's tweet which says that Baby Driver is ridiculously handicapped and hopefully will give Amy a good ride so a little saver bet on this one in case (and despite the draw!).

Well the theory was correct in the first of the two 'lady amateur' races (the winner was drawn high) but I think perhaps my logic or sense wasn't to even think of picking anything from either.  Live and learn and won't be touching this sort of race again .... if I do, you can bombard me with insults!!
