Saturday’s Selections & Results

UPDATE: I've updated the selections with the results below.  A profit of +1.37.  Interestingly, if I’d backed all my selections and not monitored the overnight betting and then removed the drifters, then it would have been a profit of 10.82.  Hmmmmmm........perhaps I know something that the ‘market’ doesn't.

Lingfield turf and Salisbury is all about the trainer and jockey so if there is a jockey change on any of these selections below, then put a line through it.

Sometimes, selections come through which I would ordinarily discount because of the draw – not always a shrewd move however, since they are usually a far far better price than otherwise so I’m gritting my teeth and including Cape Rambler, Louis The Pious, Taqleed, and Hoof It all who have what I’d consider poor draws but aren’t great prices.  It’ll be interesting to see how these four finish.  If they all fail, then I may have to rethink the gritted teeth approach. Three of the four won!

There are a Dirty Dozen system selection listed below for today and I’ll be back later to add my (non system) nap at the bottom of the blog!

1pt win bet at the odds in brackets (Betfair price at time of writing) and I’ll update profits at the end of the day.

Non-System Selection
I really think that Creme Anglaise has the best chance in the 14:30 at York.  She has a great draw (6 of the last 9 winners of a 10f race here have been drawn high) and was woefully out of her depth LTO in the grade 2 Ribblesdale.  Michael Bell has an impressive record here and is in continuing good form  so 7/1 looks a nice price for a decent each way bet. 4th - so close for the place !

  1. Like all good each-way bets - Creme Anglaise finishes 4th...... very unlucky, think deserved a place
