Not a bad day yesterday overall given that the rain came down (and oh did it!) at Bangor and turned the going heavy.
Nothing of earth shattering importance happened on Monday in the world of racing apart form the BHA releasing their reasoning behind the penalties imposed on the "naughty" racing people (jockeys and owners) who were disqualified for varying lengths of time on the 14th December last week. I did raise my eyebrows when I read Kirsty Milczarek had put forward her young age at the time as a mitigating factor (and the panel seemed to go for this) .....she would have been around 22-23 and had been living with/seriously involved with Kieren Fallon for some while by this time. Sorry but that argument doesn't wash with me - there's a reason that the age of consent is 18 and not 22 or 23!
Wayne Rooney has finally joined the ranks of racehorse owning footballers and bought his first - a yearling by Bahamian Bounty out of Amazon Beauty. The as-yet-unnamed colt (Amazon Bounty anyone?) is to be trained at Tom Dascombe's yard where Michael Owen has a few of course! (Owen owns the buildings/property in partnership with Andrew Black and leases it to Tom by the way)
When he's grown up (the colt not the owner), he'll race in pink silks, white sleeves and pink/white striped cap.
Four winners but a loss of -5.38 today - i really should leave Kempton out of this....ignore any Kempton picks that I put up in future please .....apart from the ones that win :)

1/ Don’t get your Hurricanes mixed
up! Buddy Holly could take advantage of
the lack of front runners (only other is Understory from a poor draw) and race
prominently.
2/ Le Toreador is best on form but has top
weight and may need harder ‘persuasion’ that is allowed these days! Mandy’s
Hero is worth a small e/w bet from plum draw – don’t be put off by the rider as
she won here last Thursday!
