There is some racing today - at Meydan (which I do enjoy - at least during the Carnival) and at Dundalk so the Three Wise Men should feel at home!

Which Way's The Winning Post? Perhaps tomorrow Johnny Murtagh, Seamie Heffernan & Richard Hills can be Wise Jockeys instead - how many wise men were there again guys? |
..........................maybe not!
A slight variation on
a theme as today’s selections are for Dundalk…..on a Friday before
Christmas! I’ve put what I think should win
(on form etc) in the first box and I’ve put the lively outsider ”all your Christmases have come at once if it wins”
selection in the second box. This is
more for fun and pennies and not for serious money I hasten to add and I haven’t
spent the amount of time that I normally would on these (and no, I haven’t cracked open the Christmas spirits yet!!)
Also worth noting is
that the first race is named for Johnny Murtagh who rides Dougal Philips.

Ones highlighted pink are the runners that I have serious bets on (as in not fun money!!)
The Guardian had a good piece on Thursday about the "naughty peoples'" appeals. I like their racing coverage - always interesting and there are the first to report anything of any note in depth. What I hadn't realised is that those warned off are banned from talking about the sport to other trainers or jockeys......I can't imagine that the conversation in the Fallon/Milczarek household these days is riveting......(clears throat!).
Haydock tickets are lined up and good to go on the 30th...it's driving me bonkers that I can't take even a preliminary look at the cards yet. I've ordered the weather to be decent and in the absence of hubbie (working) will be accompanied by either daughter (who will set up camp in the pink champagne bar except for coming out to look at Jason Maguire) or son (will study racecard, find decent-ish each way picks and ignore any advice I may dispense - and probably have a lucky win in the last at a big price).
Some funnies for Christmas:
Keep watching the 2nd vid - the funniest bits are toward the end
(no horses or jockeys were apparently injured in this btw)
