Friday's Funky Selections & Updates - 09 March

Not so much time for studying the speedy equine beasties tonight (Thursday evening) as I am
out doing my proud ma impression and watching my son being the most evil Bill Sykes ever.

My nightly nap which is running in the 17:15 at Sandown and is named after a place  where there was a battle in 202 BC involving Romans, Hannibal and an elephant!

Zama Zama (so good they named it twice!)
Sandown 17:15

4th

Just the one winner today and a disappointing nap - I won't be surprised if they don't find something amiss there (wind op on the cards?).  Minus  0.66  today

Ayr
First Choice
E/W or RF Choice
1
14:10
Red Rocco 1st

2
15:55
Watercolours UP (6th)

1/         Red Rocco will have no problems in the mud, McCain and Maguire have a terrific record here and his previous experience should give him the edge in this line up

Sandown
First Choice
E/W or RF Choice
1
17:15
Zama Zama UP (4th)

Notes:
1/           Zama Zama has proved he likes right handed, his proven stamina is a big plus on this track and Geraghty is up for the first time.  Cousin Khee didn’t win easily enough LTO for me to think that the extra weight and distance is going to help!  He has a good turn of foot but I would have him down as a 2 miler.

Now credit where credit's due folks!  The additions were added using canvas and a donation had been made to the National Trust.

Ones I Made Earlier

I haven't gone crazy with my CheltFest ante post bets (for obvious and reasons of common sense) but this is my list of of hopefuls (that they win and run in the race I hope they will!) that I put down weeks ago:

  • Supreme - Galileo's Choice (Cash And Go was a burnt hands operation)
  • Arkle - Al Ferof
  • Neptune - Simonsig
  • RSA - Sir Des Champs
  • Champion Chase - Big Zeb
  • Fred Winter - Ulck Du Lin
  • Jewson - Peddlers Cross
  • Pertemps - Sivola De Sivola & Buena Vista
  • Triumph - Grumeti & Dodging Bullets
  • Gold Cup - Kauto Star & Long Run (Tidal Bay was the second of my antepost fails)
  • Albert Bartlett - Rocky Creek
  • Martin Pipe - Bourne

None of these are huge amounts and most are each way.....and you can be sure I'll look at the races all over again the day before and I will probably/possibly supplement my antepost fancies

It's a Boy!  Zenyatta with her first colt foal born on Thursday night.
