Sunny Sunday Selections - 15 April

Late blog because it had a lie in today.............so my picks will be appearing here one by one over the next 1-2 hours.

I had written a wonderful (?) piece about the Grand National and the anti - peeps who came out of the cyberspace woodwork yesterday trying to wind people like myself up but then thought .....nah, I can't be bothered with them and it's far too sunny and glorious for stuff like that so here's the new revised happy sunny Sunday blog with a picture of Neptune Collonges parading at Ditcheat this lunchtime.

Congratulations to Paul Nicholls on training his first Grand national winner and to Daryl Jacob who rode an absolute blinder of a finish....and to the bookies who must have been praising the lord that a woman jockey had a live chance yesterday and thus deflected all the annual  'put it on the pretty grey one' bets.

Leopardstown today will be seeing some fine runners.  It would be very tempting to put a treble on 14:55 Furner's Green (1st), 15:25 Famous Name (1st) and 16:00 Fire Lily (2nd) but Sharestan (2nd) might upset that party (in the 15:25) - he certainly has an attractive 5lb pull although may have preferred some more rain.
