The flat seasons kick off at the Curragh on Sunday and with the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster on the 31 March, a week today but for today there is some class 1 racing at Newbury and a group race in the Winter Derby at Lingfield (currently leaning towards Junoob). I'll put up my selections throughout the course of the morning as I find them..........

Thursday's 10 Days Til Xmas Selections & Updates - 15 December

By the time I hit my 80th birthday (that's years and years away yet by the way!), I will have learned to leave Kempton on a Wednesday evening well alone!  I had an excellent day until 15:50 yesterday......well, not entirely true because I picked the winner of that first race and a decent each way 3rd place so an excellent day until 16:20!

It seemed also on Wednesday that if you had the words "back" and "Bob" in the horses name, this was auspicious (both Broadbackbob and Back Bob Back won).

My living room is now officially Christmassed to within an inch of it's life.  The tree is standing tall and proud with a mixture of tasteful silver and white (and a few not so tasteful in-your-face gaudy red) decorations.  It is 7ft tall and environmentally friendly - in other words it's an artificial one that I ordered last year!  I'd finally had enough of spending £60-70, spending quite some time transporting it to chez Sandi, even more time hacking and chopping at the trunk with a meat cleaver to fit it in the tree holder/base - and that's before decorating!  Then, once it had outlived it's useful Christmassiness, we'd (eventually - as in getting on for Easter) transport it to the recycling centre then spend the rest of the year cleaning up pine needles from the carpets.
I specifically ordered a tree that looks like a real one that's already  been in the house for a fortnight (well, no I didn't but this is what it does look like so I've turned it into a postiive) and also bought some tree scented room spray and burning oils and there we have it .......a tree that hubbie wouldn't look at last year "because it wasn't real" ...not so much as a glance in it's direction!  It has been accepted this year and is now "nice" so by 2020, it may have graduated to "great", then "falling apart" to "need a replacement" and then we can start the cycle all over again - but for now it's gorgeous and pretty and perfect :)

Very happy with today's nap/visual tip which won going away at 10/1 but kicking myself a bit because I had a gut instinct that Royal Charm was not going to have a going day andTorpichen would - sometimes you can analyse until blue in the face but gut instinct can know best - never mind!

Nice profits today of +10.68 but (as for most Thursdays) not as many people took a look at the blog today/last night so won't have seen :(
