Thursday’s Selections (28th July) & Results

My "NSS" (Non-System Selection) today is Sergeant Troy in the 17:15 Nottingham.  He's dropping back to class 5 company carrying 3lbs less than his last win (same class, dist and going) and with at a good draw and at least 2 confirmed front runners, he should get the nice gallop that he needs and get his head in front here.  Richie Mullen rides (16% here) and with Roger Charlton's 24% strike rate here, a silly handicap and first time visor the 11/4 looks very good value.  Terrible effort - 5th!

Yesterday was a pretty shabby day for the system selections.  My non-system selection got headed into 2nd as well – I was on each way but would have been a whole lot nicer it it’d won!

We’ll plug on though as overall, this has been working pretty well.  The alternative may be motivational Frankel merchandise for disaffected racehorses – just a thought!

Update:  I'm feeling quite hopeful today!  Since posting these (and compiling last night), 8 of the 13 have been tipped up by 'professional' tipsters - it doesn't do much for their prices but since we were on early doesn't matter!  Let's hope that we're not all wrong.

Anyway onward and upward to today:

14:15     Labarinto (6.4) 1st
15:15     Opinion Poll (6.2) 1st
15:45     Wild Coco (2.84) UP a furlong or two too far (and probably could do with a bit of ease in the ground?)

Nottingham
14:35     Ashbina (5.7) UP Greener than Tom Jones’s grass!  Worth a look at NTO tho’
15:30     Final Liberation (4.2) 1st
16:05     Gala Casino Star (11.5) UP just outside the places (again!)
16:40     Maloof (2.32) UP

19:10     Prince Siegfried (2.4) 1st
20:10     Caelis (3.5) 1st

Ffos Las
19:25     Salontyre (3.7) UP Came out the stalls sideways – no chance after!
