Tuesday's Selections & Updates - 29 November

I spent my day off yesterday updating my stats, results, spreadsheets and tweaking things on the racing selections front!
Three or four times over the season, be it flat or NH, the emphasis can shift from one point in favour of another.   The claimers make way for the professionals once the seasonal pipe openers are finished with or the chasers are no longer using the hurdles races for this same reason. - in other words 'proper' form starts to work out!  Right at the moment, I'm finding that the trainers' records at any given track are having more influence than might normally be the case.....

If ever anyone needs a reminder of how dangerous a jockey's career then it came with the news that  21 year old apprentice Benjamin Boutin lost his fight for life yesterday (Monday) morning after a four horse pile up on Saturday.  Prayers and thoughts for his family and girlfriend.

I blame the weather for today's results - the wind was selectively blowing my horses backwards!  I have a chicken dinner in the fridge and it's staying there....(hoping for 'winner winner chicken dinner'  tomorrow)
Two winners today (and a lot of 5ths!) but these two were very short prices and there would have had to have been a calamity (Godzilla wearing a pink tutu plucking them off the track) for them not have won.  Le Toreador hung in the final furlong and I thin he could have won this without adding to his trip - desperately unlucky and should win NTO.  loss of -7.7 (having a bad run at the moment ...boo)

NB:  It wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for Anjomarba in the 15:20 at Lingfield to perform better than his current price of 25/1 suggests.  Breeding would imply that this extra distance will suit and Milkshake has been riding very well for Conor Dore of late.

PS;  Why is it that since I've given up smoking in June, I have caught every single virus and infection that anyone has been 'kind' enough to share with me?.....and why is it that people who are ill drag themselves into work to share their germs around then expect to be treated like a martyr (rant over!)
