Last Sunday Before Xmas Selections & Updates- 18 December

There is nothing better in the world of racing than watching an absolute king amongst horses such as Big Bucks.  I felt sympathy for the Ch4 race caller who was desperately trying to conjure up a contest from nothing and told us that BB was going to have a fight this time and screamed "Ruby having to push" when Ruby moved from his motionless stance to ask the horse to get to work.  Then he just glided past Dynaste (the long way round mind!) and tootled on across the winning line.  He almost trotted over such was the margin of his victory.  Anyone who has ever seen BB run before just knew that it didn't matter about the right handed track or the soft ground (he's won on it plenty of times anyhow), the result was never in any doubt.
I've been lucky enough to be at Cheltenham the last two years to  watch Big Bucks win two of his three World Hurdles (2011 when he saw off Grands Crus and 2010 with Time For Rupert) and hope I'll be watching him win his fourth next year.

Tomorrow we have racing at Carlisle who are desperate to go ahead with an all hurdles card.  If the meeting does pass inspection they will have managed an entire year without any abandoned meets for the first years in quite a few and will include a novice hurdlers named FLAMING CLINT ......

5/         William Carson is going to try to cross from a fast start and make all as last time.  Jim Crowley has the plum draw on Doctor Hilary and will be wise to this…….

A good day again for the blog and profits of +6.56

Carlisle 13:55 ? (last nights forward planned nap)

I think the most satisfying thing about this tip was that last night Diocles was declared a NR and so it was a pretty sure thing that Jason Maguire would take over from Henry Brook and until this was made official, the price was pretty ok - I got on at 1.7
