'Nuff Said! |
It's heaven to have some uninterrupted broadband chugging into my laptop at a decent rate of bytes! Yesterday the BT Openreach monkeys were working on the magic underground cables so there were plenty of interruptions (without advanced warning) to the service - once the connection had reached ye olde dial-up levels I gave up trying to find a Kempton winner!
Keep an eye out for young Brendan Powell Jnrs rides - he has really discovered his confidence this past fortnight (36.84% strike rate) and is incredibly good value for his 7lb claim (won't be that for much longer!). He rides both codes but his forte appears to be over obstacles. He looks frighteningly young for his 16 or 17 years....or is that just me getting older.
There were more U's, R's, and P's in the results for the Hereford 15:20 yesterday that Carol Vorderman could have shaken a stick at back in her Countdown days!
The blog was back in the winning/profits groove yesterday - after what seems quite a while. Just as I was going to overhaul my selection system - which would mean not including the three winners come from the right hand column! I am in two minds whether to can carry on as now (in which case I'm diddling myself with the win only stakes when counting up the profit/loss) or I could revert to putting up just one selection per race or a mixture of both - whereas I'd put up my one main selection but if I see a decent priced horse for each way backing or I think there's only one that could possibly follow it home then I'll include that as well although there may not be one in every race. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions then please let me know by leaving a comment?
There are a couple of phoenixs tootling about today - Phoenix Flight and Flying Phoenix both run at Leicester today but not t to be confused (one will win and one won't!) and Royal Opera and Philharmonic Hall are racing together.....sweet music?

Notes:
1/ There are plenty of front runners in the line-up so Reyamour should be able to take advantage – breeding shows going should be fine.

1/ Baharat was having his first start over hurdles LTO and has room for improvement required to beat Philharmonic Hall (who beat him then) and who carries a penaly this time. If Royal Opera goes straight to the front however, he may be hard to catch as he was held up LTO which I wouldn’t have thought suited!!

Since the demise of my Jack Russell Vinnie back in September it struck me (all of a sudden....after nearly 3 months - I'm really quick on the uptake!) at the weekend that without the dog walking my life was getting pretty devoid of exercise and sunlight so this is being rectified forthwith with some brisk strolling each morning.....well substitute brisk for leisurely and strolling for plodding and you'd be nearer the truth but it will be brisk strolling (again) soon!
