Well that was a load of rubbish! My excuse for just one winner today is that I'm saving all my inspiration and luck for the Breeder's Cup meeting this weekend! I will surely be burning the midnight oil tonight so I shall need plenty of coffeeeee.............
Well those two short priced favourites that I picked yesterday (High Samana and Tatispout) did what an awful lot of short priced favourites in novice/juvey hurdles and chases do.......they lost!
loss -6.19
Couple of notes! King Fingal won first time out last season and has the assistance of an excellent claimer (see below)
La Estrella - Dane O'Neill has ridden 14 times and won 10 times. Has won on the last 9 visits here with incredible 5 and 6 on-the-trot winning streaks. He was going to be retired in 2008 and early this year but keeps on going.
If you haven't bought your Christmas Cards yet, click on the flashy red Jockey's Fund ad at the foot of this post and you can visit their website and buy some great cards there (when you've read the rest of the blog !!)....this ad-click, I don't received anything for so I'm not pushing it for any reason other than it's a great worthwhile cause.

An important point that I failed to remember and was swiftly reminded of is to look for the value in novice events! Value will be looked for, sought out and hunted down in future.
Ladbrokes are paying out on Paul Hanagan becoming champ for the 2nd year running on Saturday after Silvestre De Sousa was delayed and had to give up his rides at Nottingham.
After catching up on some vital Sky+ (The New Hotel Inspector if you must know!), I took a very (as in 5 minutes) quick look at the last at Kempton and put this on:
It made me very very happy as you can imagine................BrokeLads are not so happy with me (which makes me even happier). Anyway, enough of the happy talk ..........
...............now back to business!

I'm avoiding Towcester today - the combination of forecast heavy rain and the first meet under the new whips rules have persuaded me that this is for watching only today.....
An upcoming conditional jockey to look out for is Dean Pratt who is attached to John Quinn's yard. He has had 5 rides this season and won 4 of them. I discovered this to my cost when the only factor which stopped me backing Royal Bonsai at Haydock a week ago was this hitherto unknown jockey - I learned quickly and backed his next winning ride on Folk Tune!
On another note, he was caught up in the fire which took the lives of Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson and escaped by diving head first from the window so he deserves a lifetime of good luck to make up for that horrific experience.
