Wednesday's Selections & Results- 16 November

The pics and videos really do work the oracle for winning selections - Flying Pickets came home in front yesterday - however I'm still resisting the temptation to cover this blog with pics and music videos!

I was having a look at the Betfair Chase line up for this Saturday and noticed a couple of stats from the mere 6 years of its running.  Four of the six winners went off short priced favourite (three odds on) and three winners (Imperial Commander and Kauto Star twice) had won the Cheltenham Gold Cup the same year so Long Run is looking pretty good for this!  Odds on in any chase event isn't appealing to me as anything can happen (filed under Kauto Star 2008) so I'll be looking for the value in an each way bet.........I'd better be looking for another Al Yankovic video.

Sir Henry went along to Buck House to collect his gong yesterday

You have no idea how much I want the number 3 horse in the 15:00 Warwick to be half decent  so I've looked and tried to make a case... of the trainer's last 3 winners 2 were débutantes - how's that?  Noel Fehily rode the trainer's last winner....no?  He'll improve for his recent first run in 11 months.......the owner has some very nice horses and owned a Cheltenham Novice Hurdle winner (Monsignor).  Well it could be worth an each way or place bet!

Warwick 15:00 ?

I realise this is the most tenuous case made for a horse ever so if it wins (???) then I shall on Saturday be filling this blog so full of videos that it'll make your head spin (and will hear "told you" from my daughter once or twice as well I'm sure!)
Unplaced - in his defence, he was hampered and you can't really win a race walking like that!

"Proper" selections up below:

Warwick
First Choice
Danger
1
13:30
Loch Ba 2nd
Jacko’s Boy UP
2
14:00
Majorica King 2nd
Gospel Preacher 3rd
3
15:00
Henok 3rd
Hindon Road  UP

Notes:
1/            I’m always wary of runners completely new to racing in hurdle (ptp occasionally are a special exception) but Alan King has been very successful this season so far with debutante hurdlers and Gospel Preacher may be worth an investment (Hindon Road is another of his at 15:00). Majorica King would look to be the form pick of those with experience as long as he’s not as worked up before the race this time. This track should suit better than Carlisle and the stable is in fine form currently.
2/            Loch Ba was lucky LTO and has a penalty but may overcome this.  Jacko’s Boy also has penalty but riders (won with him before) claim to help.
3/            Roll The Dice may need this for confidence boosting purposes after falling LTO.  Henok probably needs softer but the experience under his belt should give him the edge over Hindon Road – and you never know, Basil Fawlty as a 3rd choice may snatch a place
